Cala Martina is a 270-metre-long bathing beach on the island of Ibiza in the Balearic Islands. The beach has a gentle slope with fine sand and is 25 metres wide. It is a free-access recreational bathing area used primarily by visitors. The water is characterised by the absence of currents, whirlpools, and undertow.

Coastal bathing water. Length 270 metres, width 25 metres. Fine sand substrate with gentle slope. No currents, whirlpools, or undertow. Water mass designation: EIMC05M3, bounded by Cala Llenya to Punta Blanca.

Location

Located on Ibiza, Balearic Islands, near Santa Eulalia del Río. The beach has good pedestrian access and good disabled access. Good vehicle access and parking are available.

Lifeguard service present. Accessible facilities available including toilets and showers. Disabled access available (good). Pedestrian access available (good). Vehicle access and parking available (good).

Monitoring season occurs annually before the bathing season begins.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2019–2020), Good (2021–2023). State classification (2022–23): Good. Short-duration contamination episodes: 1 in 2022, none in previous years. Exceptional contamination episodes (>72 hours): none recorded. Waste accumulation: very low (2020–2023). Pollution sources identified: overflow relief at pumping station 500 metres away, Santa Eulària wastewater treatment plant 1.8 kilometres away, septic tanks.

Risks

Occasional jellyfish. No history of phytoplankton or cyanobacteria proliferation.
