Playa Des Canar is a natural sandy beach located on the island of Ibiza in the Balearic Islands. The beach is 370 metres long and 40 metres wide with a gentle slope and fine sand. It is used for daily recreational bathing by local residents and experiences high visitor numbers.

Water

Free-flowing bathing water. The water body is part of the water mass EIMC05M3, extending from Cala Llenya to Punta Blanca. The beach has no currents, whirlpools, or undertow.

Location

Located on Ibiza in the Balearic Islands, near Santa Eulalia del Río. Pedestrian access is good. Vehicle access is good. Parking is available and is good. Disabled access is good.

Water Quality

Annual classification 2022-23: Excellent. Historical classification for 2007-09 was Good. Classification for 2018-19 was Acceptable. Classification for 2022-23 is Good. One short-duration pollution episode (<72 hours) was recorded in 2021 and one in 2022. No exceptional pollution episodes (>72 hours) were recorded. Floating waste accumulation is very low. Pollution sources include two wastewater treatment facilities (EBARs) and septic tanks or vessels.

Risks

Occasional jellyfish. No history of phytoplankton or cyanobacteria proliferation.
