Mogán municipality, Las Palmas province, Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. Nearest locality: Arguineguín. Pedestrian access is good. Vehicle access is good. Parking is available and good.

Water Quality
Water quality is classified based on analysis of fecal indicator bacteria including Escherichia coli and intestinal Enterococci collected over four years according to Royal Decree 1341/2007. The water body achieves good ecological status. No previous contamination episodes are recorded in the monitoring system.
Risks
Diffuse contamination from fishing port. Point sources include: Costa Alegre overflow, pool discharge in Arguineguín, fishermen's association, La Charca overflow, El Pajar submarine outfall overflow, El Pajar submarine outfall (Arguineguín wastewater treatment plant and La Charca overflow). Runoff from Barranco Cañada de Pino Seco. Possible contamination events: stormwater discharge from heavy rainfall (sporadic, under 72 hours), untreated or treated urban wastewater (unexpected, under 72 hours), accidental hydrocarbon or organic waste spills (unexpected, under 72 hours), saltwater discharge from pool emptying or filter cleaning (sporadic, under 24 hours). Cyanobacteria proliferation episodes of Trichodesmium recorded in 2004, 2010, and more intensely in 2017. No risk from jellyfish, sea urchins, or macroalgae.
