Playa Marfolín is a 950-meter-long coastal beach in La Oliva municipality on the island of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, Spain. The beach has a width of 30 meters and features golden sand substrate. It is exposed to strong wave action with a tidal range of 1–3 meters. The beach is accessible on foot and by vehicle, with accessible facilities for people with disabilities.

Coastal marine water body (ES70FVTI2 - Punta Jandía – Punta del Lago). Batimetry ranges from 0 to −5 meters. Strong wave exposure and strong wave regime. Golden sand substrate. Tidal range 1–3 meters.

Water Quality

Water quality classification based on four-year evaluation of Escherichia coli and intestinal Enterococci indicator results according to RD 1341/2007. The water body is in good ecological status (biological and physical-chemical). No previous contamination episodes documented.

Risks

Diffuse pollution source: El Cotillo fishing port. Point pollution sources include: EDAR Apartamentos Cotillo Lagos, EDAR El Cotillo, sewer system overflow, two residential discharges, and café discharge. Episodes of cyanobacterium Trichodesmium proliferation recorded in 2004, 2010, and more intensively in 2017. No risk from jellyfish or sea urchins. No risk from macroalgae.
