Micaela is a bathing beach located in Chipiona, Cádiz, in the coastal waters of the Guadalquivir River estuary along Spain's Atlantic coast. The beach is 300 metres long with an average width of 15 metres and features golden sand mixed with rocky areas. It experiences shallow waters with calm bathing conditions and moderate wave exposure. The beach is highly occupied and urbanized with a promenade and is situated in the Guadalquivir hydrographic district.

Coastal Atlantic waters influenced by river contributions from the Guadalquivir River estuary (water mass 510002). Shallow waters with sandy substrate. Mesomareal tidal range of 2–4 metres. Dominant current direction towards south, south-southeast, and southeast. Wave regime dominates from the west and secondarily from the southeast. Moderately exposed to wave action.

Location

Located in Chipiona, Cádiz, Andalucía, Spain, along the Cádiz coastal area. Access is on foot. Disabled access is available. The beach is adjacent to the Puerto Deportivo de Chipiona.

Facilities

Lifeguards and surveillance equipment present. Toilets, showers, and waste bins available. Cleaning service provided. Disabled access available. Signage and hazard warning signs present. Nautical club (Club Náutico) available. No red cross post, no life-saving equipment rental, no scuba diving zone.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for 2015 and 2016: Excellent. Low-duration microbiological contamination risk with low degree identified. Environmental monitoring carried out by the Directorate General of Planning and Management of Public Water Domain and Health Authority monitoring by the Sub-directorate General of Public Health and Consumer Affairs.

Risks

Low-risk diffuse pollution source from land use, built surfaces, and altered areas in the influence zone. Arroyo Antonaria provides clean rainfall runoff. Low risk of jellyfish, phytoplankton, and macroalgae proliferation.
