Location

Located in La Manga del Mar Menor, Cartagena, Spain. Nearest hospital is Santa Lucía, approximately 34 kilometres away. Accessible by foot with easy pedestrian access. Vehicle access and parking available with over 100 spaces. Urban bus service available. Closest highway is Autovía de la Manga-MU-312.

Toilets, foot showers, waste bins, cleaning service, tourism office, food establishment, beverage establishment, sun lounger rental, umbrella rental, water sports equipment rental. Danger signalling present. Lifeguard and rescue service available during summer season. No disabled access. No showers.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent during the monitoring period. E. coli levels ranged from 0 to 12–32 UFC/100ml (2017–2019). Enterococcus levels ranged from 0 to 9–20 UFC/100ml (2017–2019). No practical presence of potentially toxic phytoplankton cells was detected. A non-bathing recommendation was issued from 16–23 September 2019 due to suspected deficient water quality from heavy rainfall runoff.

Risks

Jellyfish appear seasonally with variable occurrence, typically in early spring and late summer. Heavy rainfall can cause water quality degradation from runoff.
