Playa El Vivero is a 800-meter-long beach in La Manga del Mar Menor, Cartagena, with a sandy golden bottom and moderate width of 10 meters. The beach is in a semi-urban area with high occupancy and serves as a local recreational bathing zone. Water quality was rated as excellent from 2000 to 2011.

Water Quality

Water quality rated as excellent from 2000 to 2011. No significant pollution pressure identified. Toxic phytoplankton proliferation is a natural phenomenon that rarely affects public health; sampling in 2008 and 2009 showed practically no potentially toxic cells. No authorized discharges in the proximate area.

Risks

Toxic phytoplankton proliferation risk: null or very low. Short-duration episodes unlikely. Jellyfish appear seasonally, with peak abundance from spring onset to late summer.
