Torre de San Vicente is a beach located in Benicàssim, Castellón province, in the Valencian Community. The beach has an irregular closed configuration with parallel and perpendicular breakwaters for defence, and features a rigid maritime promenade. The shoreline extends 1,007.6 metres with an average width of 57.4 metres, and the beach is composed of sand with artificial origin. It is situated along a low-accumulation coastline with currents flowing from south to north and micromareal tidal range.

Benicàssim, Castellón province, Valencian Community, Spain. The beach is bounded to the north by Almadrava beach and to the south by Terrers beach. Parking and disabled access are available. The beach is located in an urban area under construction.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. Monitoring point Torreón established since 1987. Quality assessment based on Escherichia coli and intestinal Enterococcus parameters. Weekly inspections during bathing season evaluate visual inspection parameters, water appearance, sand cleanliness, and service conditions, rated as Excellent, Good, Sufficient, or Insufficient. No direct discharge points to the shoreline affect water quality. Submarine outfall operates at 5,933 m³/d (project capacity 18,000 m³/d) serving 9,156 inhabitants with secondary treatment (SS 86%, BOD5 86%, COD 78%).

Risks

Low-frequency, mild-impact risk factors identified: rainfall, urban sanitation systems, and coastal discharge. Rivers/canals, industrial installations, port facilities, and diffuse pollution also pose low-frequency, mild-impact risks. Cyanobacteria proliferation not detected in Valencian Community coastal waters. Phytoplankton proliferation possible but less likely given good water renewal. Jellyfish proliferation possible but less likely given water body characteristics.
