Playa Los Aliseos is a bathing beach located in San Javier on La Manga del Mar Menor. The beach extends for 600 metres with an average width of 20 metres and features a golden sand bottom. It is a natural sandy beach in an urban area, experiencing high occupancy with an estimated maximum of 5200 swimmers. The water quality was classified as excellent during 2000–2011.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent during 2000–2011. No significant pollution pressure identified. The water body is part of the coastal mass 'El Mar Menor' with acceptable ecological status according to Order ARM/2656/2008.

Risks

Toxic phytoplankton proliferation is a natural phenomenon that rarely affects public health or ecosystems. Monitoring in 2008 and 2009 showed negligible presence of potentially toxic cells. Risk level: null or very low. Short-duration episodes are unlikely. Jellyfish appear seasonally, with peak abundance between spring and late summer.
