Water Quality

Water quality classified as excellent during 2000–2009 and 2010–2011. No significant pollution pressure identified. No authorised discharges in the proximate area. Toxic phytoplankton proliferation risk rated as null or very low, with negligible presence of potentially toxic cells detected in 2008 and 2009 sampling campaigns.

Risks

Jellyfish appear seasonally with maximum abundance between early spring and late summer. Toxic phytoplankton proliferation is a natural phenomenon that rarely affects public health or ecosystems.
