Pors Alliou is a semi-open sandy beach located on the island commune of Île de Batz. The beach has been classified as good to average water quality from 2005 to 2010 under the 1976 Directive. The profile was developed in June 2011 in compliance with European Directive 2006/7/CE on bathing water quality.

Sandy beach with semi-open configuration. The beach is sensitive to pollution persistence due to its semi-open nature, which limits water circulation and dispersion of contaminants.

Location

Île de Batz commune. The beach has a semi-open morphology with rocky headlands and sandy coves characteristic of the island's topography.

Water Quality

Water quality classified as good to average from 2005 to 2010 under Directive 76/160/CEE. Microbiological data from 2008 to 2010 for E. coli and enterococci never exceeded thresholds set by AFSSET. No short-term pollution events were identified on the beach.

Risks

Identified pollution sources include non-collective sanitation installations (ANC), birds, and moorings for bacterial contamination. Macrodebris identified as non-bacterial pollution source. During summer months, heavy rainfall events are rare (70% of rainfall below 1 mm) limiting pollution risk from precipitation. Southwest winds tend to push pollution toward the coast.
