Water Quality

Bacteriological water quality was monitored from 2006 to 2010 under the 2006 European directive. Monitoring results showed episodic degradation events. E. coli concentrations in shellfish in the surrounding conchylicultural zones were tracked by IFREMER's REMI network.

Risks

Potential pollution sources were identified including collective sewage systems, non-collective sanitation, stormwater drainage networks, and agricultural runoff. Marine pollution episodes were documented. Macro-algae and phytoplankton proliferation potential was assessed.
