Water Quality

Water quality classification of 2024 complies with Decreto-Lei 135/09. Monitoring frequency is monthly. No days of bathing advisories or prohibitions due to short-term pollution events were recorded during the 2024 bathing season.

Risks

Jellyfish are likely to occur in the bathing water. Short-term microbiological contamination may occur due to sporadic sanitation infrastructure malfunctions or intense rainfall causing surface run-off and overflows. Macroalgae proliferation is frequent. Cyanobacteria and phytoplankton proliferation are unlikely.
