Location

Redan beach is situated in the commune of Landunvez, in the Pays d'Iroise area of Brittany, France.

Water Quality

Microbiological quality monitoring was conducted by ARS (Regional Health Agency) covering the period 2008-2010. Water quality assessment included E. coli and enterococci measurements as indicators of faecal contamination.

Risks

Potential pollution sources were inventoried in the extended environment surrounding the beach. Faecal contamination from various sources was evaluated using E. coli concentration modelling.
