Ribeira or Pescadores Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Ericeira. This sandy urban beach is situated in the center of the village and is surrounded by high rocky coastal cliffs with a small fishing port.

Water quality classification 2020 shows generally good historical quality. Contamination risk is very low. Sampling frequency is triweekly. In 2020, bathing was advised against or prohibited on 2 days due to short-term pollution events.

Risks

Short-term pollution events (1–2 days) may occur due to river discharge increase after rainfall. Fishery-related activities in the adjacent port present minor potential pollution sources. Cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton proliferation are all considered unlikely.
