Rigeleje is a wide sandy beach with light-colored sand, backed by sand dunes and pine forest. The beach is part of a long sandy shoreline extending from Åhus in the north to Kivik in the south. The bathing water is designated as an EU bathing water under Directive 2006/7/EG. The water has received an excellent quality rating for the past three years.

Coastal water body forming part of the Western Hanö Bay surface water body (Västra Hanöbuktens kustvatten).

Location

Rigeleje, registered as an EU bathing water by Kristianstad municipality. Parking available with 50 spaces located 50 meters from the beach. A kiosk, camping facilities, minigolf, and toilet facilities are present.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (Utmärkt kvalitet). The bathing water has received an excellent quality rating consistently for the years 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 according to Directive 2006/7/EG.
