Location

Carnac is situated in Morbihan, Brittany, at the bottom of Quiberon Bay. The commune is bordered to the north by Ploumel and Erdeven, to the west by Ploemeur, to the east by Trinité-sur-Mer and Crach, and to the south by the Atlantic Ocean.

Water Quality

A Type 3 vulnerability profile was required for all usage zones due to documented contamination episodes over ten years and complex pollution sources. Water quality monitoring is based on two bacteriological parameters: intestinal enterococci and Escherichia coli.
