Water Quality

Water quality monitoring has been conducted from 2002 onwards under regulatory surveillance and self-monitoring programmes. Quality assessments for seasons 2010, 2011, and 2012 were documented with average analyses and supplementary enterococci campaigns conducted.

Potential pollution sources identified include non-collective sanitation systems, surface runoff, pumping stations, sewage networks, and branch connections. The profile evaluates cyanobacteria proliferation potential, macro algae proliferation potential, and phytoplankton proliferation potential.
