Water Quality

The bathing area has been classified under the Directive 76/160/CEE with historical monitoring records. Classification assessments were also conducted under the new Directive 2006/7/CE. Monitoring includes fecal indicator germs and bacterial contamination indicators.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified include domestic wastewater from collective and non-collective sanitation systems, stormwater discharge, agricultural activities, artisanal and industrial activities, port and mooring operations, camping and mobile home areas, and dredging of the port access channel.
