Sheerness bathing water is on the north coast of the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, near the mouths of the Thames and Medway estuaries. It is a gently sloping shingle beach, backed by a large sea defence wall, which forms the promenade.

Risks

There are several emergency storm overflows located in the wider area of the bathing water. These include the emergency storm overflow at Grain sewage treatment works (Grain 2), as well as overflows at Brielle Way West Minster (Medway estuary) and South Street, Queenborough (Swale estuary). They are not impacting bathing water compliance.
