Sol Roc beach is located on the western coast of the Manche department inside the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel on its eastern portion, in the commune of Champeaux. The beach is 200 meters long with a width of 400 meters at high coefficient tides. The foreshore consists of fine sand and rocks with a gentle slope. The beach is cleaned by the commune and is accessible to animals.

Water

Marine bathing area within the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. Water depth is shallow (less than 30 meters). Beach dimensions: 200 meters long, 400 meters wide at high tide coefficient.

Location

Located in Champeaux commune on the west coast of Manche department in the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. Parking available with over 100 marked spaces. Access ramp to foreshore available.

Facilities

Lifeguard post present. No sanitary facilities on the beach. Parking with over 100 marked spaces. Beach access ramp. Public information on water quality displayed on panel at beach entrance, updated weekly.

15 June to 15 September

Water Quality

Water quality monitoring conducted under Directive 2006/7/CE. Monitoring parameters include Escherichia coli and enterococci. Beach classified according to Directive 2006/7/CE with assessment of sanitary quality for water and shellfish harvesting areas.

Risks

Potential pollution sources identified including domestic wastewater from collective and non-collective sanitation systems, stormwater runoff, agricultural activities, and coastal discharges. Shellfish harvesting and fish/crustacean fishing occur in the area.
