Sopot-K22 is a bathing beach located at the Baltic Sea in Sopot, Poland, at entrance number 22 to the beach. The beach has a shoreline of 100 meters. Water quality is regularly monitored, with most assessments showing water suitable for bathing, though cyanobacterial blooms have occasionally caused temporary closures. The bathing season runs from late June to late August.

Location

Sopot, at beach entrance number 22, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. The Municipal Center for Sport and Recreation in Sopot manages the facility.

Facilities

Designated swimming zone in water, beach recreation and sports zone, water collection point, disabled access, waste bins, toilets, showers, changing rooms, WOPR flag mast, lifeguard on duty, prohibition on domestic animals, information board, beach regulations available for review.

Season

28 June 2025 to 31 August 2025.

Water Quality

Water classification for 2025 is good. Monitoring results from 2025 show E. coli levels ranging from 15 to 900 jtk(NPL)/100 ml and enterococci from 1 to 98 jtk(NPL)/100 ml. Maximum allowable concentrations are 1000 jtk(NPL)/100 ml for E. coli and 400 jtk(NPL)/100 ml for enterococci. Water has been rated unsuitable for bathing on several occasions due to cyanobacterial blooms and, in 2024, due to oil stains possibly linked to a port fire in Gdańsk.

Risks

Cyanobacterial blooms have caused multiple water closures during summer months across multiple years (2018-2025). Oil contamination was noted in July 2024, possibly related to a fire at Gdańsk Port.
