Location

Sopot, at the height of entrance number 20, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. The beach is managed by the City Centre for Sport and Recreation in Sopot.

Facilities

Lifeguard on duty, designated swimming zone, water collection point, waste bins, toilet, showers, changing rooms, WOPR flag mast, beach regulations available, information board, and domestic animals prohibited.

Water Quality

Water quality classification for 2021 was excellent. Monitoring results from 2021-2018 show water generally suitable for bathing, with maximum permissible concentrations of Escherichia coli at 1000 CFU/100 ml and Enterococci at 400 CFU/100 ml. Cyanobacteria blooms were identified as a pollution source on multiple occasions in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021, resulting in unsafe water classifications on those specific dates.

Risks

Cyanobacteria blooms occurred periodically during the summer months of 2018-2021. A strong rip current is identified as the reason for the red flag warning as of the last measurement on 31 August 2022.
