Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). No wastewater treatment plants, discharge pipes, or Imhoff systems are present in the coastal area. The Ligurian Sea is not characterized by cyanobacterial blooms due to predominantly oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains have been recorded.
