Baia Dorica is a sandy beach with a shallow, gently sloping sandy bottom and low rocky promontories interspersed with small coves. The beach is 20 meters wide and extends for 0.5 kilometers along the coast. The area experiences a dry subtropical climate with high summer temperatures and modest winter rainfall.

Channel of Sicily (Canale di Sicilia), designated coastal section 15. The water body serves a bathing area extending 0.5 kilometers.

Location

Vittoria, Sicily, in the Ragusa province. Coordinates: 36.9170°N, 14.4119°E. The beach is located within the Baia Dorica bathing fraction and is part of coastal area N.15 between Capo Scalambri and Licata.

Facilities

The beach is unequipped and free access. There are no signs or municipal ordinances prohibiting animal access. The area is used exclusively for bathing.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The area is not served by a sewage system. Potential pollution sources identified include agricultural activities, intense urbanization, and untreated urban discharges. White water discharge and storm overflow structures are present, with possible malfunction of the submarine pipeline.

Risks

Heavy precipitation can cause overflow of water conveyed into the bathing area. No specific pollution sources are present within the bathing area itself. No cyanobacterial or macroalgae proliferation events were recorded in the previous four years.
