Costa Fenicia is a sandy beach in Vittoria, Sicily, with a gently sloping sandy seabed and low rocky outcrops separated by small inlets. The beach is backed by dunes covered with typical Mediterranean scrub vegetation in a dry subtropical climate. The beach is 20 metres wide and extends for 0.60 kilometres along the coast.

Part of the Sicilian Channel (Canale di Sicilia). Sandy seabed with gentle slope. Area extends 0.60 kilometres along the coast. Located in hydrographic basin R190879 (minor basins between Acate and Ippari).

Location

Located in Vittoria, in the province of Ragusa, Sicily. The beach is part of coastal area number 15, between Capo Scalambri and Licata. Coordinates: latitude 36.9233, longitude 14.4059.

Facilities

The beach is free and unequipped. No lifeguards or facilities mentioned.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The area is not served by a sewage system. Agricultural activities and untreated urban discharges are potential pollution sources. White water discharge and overflow weirs may affect water quality. Possible malfunction of the submarine outfall pipe.

Risks

Heavy rainfall can cause overflow of stormwater discharge into bathing waters. No pollution sources are present within the bathing area itself. No anomalous situations have occurred in recent years. No cyanobacterial or macroalgae proliferation events recorded.
