Spiaggia Cantone (Nobiallo)

Spiaggia Cantone is a pebble beach located on the northwestern shore of Lake Como in Menaggio, Lombardia. The beach spans approximately 80 metres in width. Water quality at this bathing site is classified as excellent based on monitoring data from 2019–2022. No cyanobacterial toxic effects or macroalgae proliferation events have been recorded in the past four years.

Lake Como. The bathing area extends approximately 80 metres along the shore.

Location

Menaggio, province of Como, Lombardia. The beach is situated on the northwestern shore of Lake Como at an altitude of 202 metres above sea level. Animals are permitted free access to the area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (reference period 2019–2022). No anthropogenic activities known to promote eutrophication or cyanobacterial growth. No exceedances of regulatory thresholds for cyanobacterial proliferation recorded in the past four years.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events may occur due to adverse meteorological conditions including heavy rainfall. Potential sources include land runoff, water pooling, and accidental or unauthorised discharge of sewage or debris.
