A sandy beach located in front of the Gabbiano restaurant in Vittoria, Sicily. The beach features a low, sandy seabed that gradually slopes downward, with sand dunes behind the shoreline. Breakwater barriers are present to counter erosion phenomena. The beach is situated near a port structure. The beach width is 25 metres and extends for 0.7 kilometres along the coast.

Facilities

The area is equipped for bathing with appropriate infrastructure and services. Animals are permitted to access the beach, as there are no municipal signs or ordinances prohibiting their entry.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. No pollution sources are present within the bathing area.

Risks

Heavy rainfall can cause overflow of the conveyance system that channels water into the bathing area. White water discharge and overflow spillways are present. Potential malfunction of the submarine discharge pipe is possible. Identified pollution causes include treated wastewater discharge via submarine pipeline after primary treatment, agricultural activities, intense urbanization, and untreated urban discharges.
