Coastal waters (Chiavari - Sestri Levante body). Area extends 1.649 square kilometers. The water body receives discharge from several streams including Valletta Belvedere and Rio Selasca.

Location

Lavagna, Genova province, Liguria region. The beach is located along the main road connecting the municipalities of Lavagna and Sestri Levante. Parking is available in the area.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). No coastal treatment plants, discharge pipes, or septic tanks are present. No specific pollution measures or monitoring are currently active.

Risks

River mouth discharge identified as a potential pollution source. Short-duration pollution events and anomalous situations are being evaluated using a modeling approach under development. Cyanobacterial blooms are not characteristic of the Ligurian Sea due to oligotrophic conditions. No toxic algal blooms have been recorded in the past 4 years.
