Supermercato GS is a coastal bathing water area located 200 metres north of the GS supermarket in Bari, Italy. The beach is characterized by pebbles and is classified as excellent quality based on monitoring data from 2017–2020. The water body is part of the Bari-San Vito (Polignano) hydrographic system in the Adriatic coast region.

Coastal marine water body. Part of the Bari-San Vito (Polignano) water system. The beach is pebbled.

Location

Bari, Puglia region, Italy. Located 200 metres north of the GS supermarket. The bathing area extends 1.217 km along the coast.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No direct sewage discharges to the sea are present. The potential pollution source identified is an artificial stream mouth (Lama San Giorgio) located at the northern boundary of the bathing area.

Risks

No short-duration pollution events were recorded over the last four years. The bathing area is not characterized by algal blooms or cyanobacterial growth. No cases of potentially toxic algal strains were detected in the last four years.
