Torre S Gennaro Lido S Gennaro is a sandy beach located in Torchiarolo, in the province of Brindisi, Puglia. The bathing area covers 1.87 square kilometres and has been classified as excellent for water quality during the 2017–2020 monitoring period. The beach is situated along a marine-coastal water body in the Cerano-Le Cesine hydrographic basin.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent (2017–2020). No direct wastewater discharges to sea are present. The only potential point source of pollution is the Pilella Canal outlet (Foce Canale Pilella). No short-term pollution events were recorded in the last four years.

Risks

The Pilella Canal outlet represents a potential source of pollution affecting bathing water quality. The area is not characterised by algal or cyanobacterial blooms and no cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation have been detected.
