Trieste, Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Italy. Coordinates: 45.699270°N, 13.721866°E. The area extends 0.78 km along the coast.

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent (reference years 2015–2018). Escherichia coli 90th percentile: 21 CFU/100 mL, 95th percentile: 26 CFU/100 mL. Intestinal enterococci 90th percentile: 15 CFU/100 mL, 95th percentile: 22 CFU/100 mL. No short-duration pollution events were recorded during 2015–2018.

Risks

The Servola wastewater treatment plant discharges via submarine outfall, representing a potential long-distance impact. The Barcola treatment plant also discharges via submarine outfall, conveyed to Servola since 2016. No cyanobacteria eutrophication phenomena have been reported.
