Via Vini is a coastal bathing water in Rometta, Sicily, characterised by unconfined marine water with a predominantly pebble seabed that slopes gently and regularly. The emerged beach consists of medium sand and gravel, while the submerged beach is composed of fine sand. The beach width ranges from 25 to 50 metres.

Location

Rometta, Province of Messina, Sicily. The bathing area extends along the coast between Torrente Boncoddo and Torrente Saponara, located between Golfo di Milazzo and Capo Rasocolmo. Coordinates: 38.238797°N, 15.416428°E.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. No bathing prohibitions are in place. Potential pollution sources include possible discharge from sewage lift stations near the bathing zone and wastewater treatment plants serving Rometta Marea (discharged via submarine pipe from Torrente Boncoddo) and Sant'Andrea (discharged to Torrente Saponara).

Risks

The beach is subject to generalised erosion along the entire shoreline, mitigated by multiple wave barriers. Nine sewage lift stations are located in proximity to the bathing area, presenting possible risk of effluent spillage.
