VN Brušperk I is a reservoir in the Brušperk area, built as a flood-control structure after floods in the 1960s on the Horní Kotbach stream. Today it is used for recreation and fishing. The bathing beach is approximately 300 meters long with a grassy shore, a gradual entry into the water, and a muddy bottom.

Water

Reservoir with a surface area of 4.1 hectares and an elevation of 260 meters above sea level. The catchment area measures 2.56 km². The long-term average annual flow to the dam profile is 0.02 m³/s.

Location

The city of Brušperk, K Náměstí 22, postal code 739 44. Parking is available at a large car park near the beach.

Facilities

A renovated restaurant near the beach, toilets available only as part of the restaurant, children's play area, water pedal boat rental, large car park, and changing cabins. No lifeguard or medical personnel are present.

Water Quality

Water quality classification based on microbiological indicators (intestinal enterococci and Escherichia coli) for 2022–2025 is good. However, overall monitoring assessment shows an unfavourable state. Total phosphorus concentrations have long exceeded permitted values; monitoring of this indicator was not carried out after 2012. Elevated cyanobacterial cell concentrations have been measured repeatedly since 2017, with the most massive population growth recorded in 2018 and 2025, including declared bathing bans. Water transparency is persistently below 1 meter. Cercaria presence was detected during bathing seasons in 2016, 2018, and 2020.
