Weinbergsee is a lake near Diedersdorf, approximately 3 km southwest of Seelow, formed during the last ice age as part of the Platkow Lake Chain. The elongated basin is divided into two almost oval sections with a total surface area of 13.4 hectares and a maximum depth of around 7 metres. The lake is surrounded by arable land separated by a narrow strip of woodland, with the village of Diedersdorf reaching to the southern shore. Water transparency at the bathing area ranges from 0.5 to 2.5 metres during the season, indicating significant improvement from its classification as very nutrient-rich in the 1990s.
