Weserbadestelle Oberhammelwarden Nord is located on the Weser River between Brake and Elsfleth. The bathing area features a 1500-meter-long sandy beach of fine Weser sand, with reed beds and beach grass providing natural shelter. No trees are present, so visitors must provide their own sun protection. The beach is unguarded.

Water

Weser River. The water body is influenced by North Sea tides with a tidal range of approximately 2–4 meters. Strong currents occur even in knee-deep water and intensify significantly in deeper water.

Location

Located between Brake and Elsfleth on the Weser River at coordinates 53.2783° North, 8.4830° East. Parking is available directly across from the beach restaurant (Strandgaststätte). Access is via a northern direction from the parking area.

Facilities

Toilets available at the beach restaurant or at the adjacent campground. No lifeguards present.

Water Quality

EU classification: Excellent quality (percentile assessment according to Directive 2006/7/EC).

Risks

Strong currents in knee-deep and deeper water. Large ship passage causes sudden water level drops and whirlpools that can sweep children away.
