Weserbadestelle Oberhammelwarden Süd is located where the Weser and Hunte rivers meet. The bathing area features a 1700-metre sandy beach lined with reeds and beach grass. No shade from trees is available on the beach. The beach is not supervised by lifeguards.

Water

River. The Weser river is subject to tidal influence from the North Sea with a tidal range of approximately 2 to 4 metres.

Location

Parking is available in front of the Segelclub Weserstrand Elsfleth sailing club. Toilets are located at the Bootshaus restaurant of the SWE. The bathing beach is approximately 1 kilometre north of these facilities.

Toilets at Bootshaus restaurant. No lifeguards.

Water Quality

Excellent quality (percentile assessment according to Directive 2006/7/EC).

Risks

Strong currents occur even in knee-deep water and intensify significantly in deeper water. Larger ships passing through the area cause sudden water level drops and whirlpools that can sweep children away.
