Water Quality

Allowable limits: Escherichia coli 1000 CFU/100 ml, Enterococci 400 CFU/100 ml. Four-year assessment (2020-2023) was good. 2025 classification: insufficient quality. 2024 classification: insufficient quality. Most recent monitoring (13 August 2025) showed suitable water with E. coli 380 CFU/100 ml and Enterococci 40 CFU/100 ml. Probable cause of deterioration: fecal contamination from waterfowl. Wastewater treatment plants operate in compliance with permits and no direct sewage discharge to the supplying river has been detected.

Risks

Fecal contamination from waterfowl identified as probable cause of water quality deterioration. Historical records show periods of unsuitable water due to elevated E. coli and Enterococci levels.
