Žnjan is a partially cultivated beach in Split with a rocky surface interspersed with pebbles. The beach stretches 700 metres long and 60 metres wide along a moderate coastal slope with a wavelike shoreline. It experiences high bather density during the season and holds Blue Flag certification. The average sea temperature during the swimming season is 23.75°C.

Adriatic Sea. Beach length 700 metres, beach width 60 metres. Average sea temperature during season 23.75°C. Salinity ranges from 25.3 to 39.5 practical salinity units. Tide amplitude 27.1 cm. Prevailing wind from the southwest. Underwater coastal slope is moderate (15 to 25 degrees).

Split, Croatia. The beach is accessible via an asphalt road. Parking is available for a fee.

Lifeguards (rescuer service), toilets (sanitary facility), showers, changing rooms, disabled access, café bar, playground, land sports facilities, aquagan, benches, parking area, auxiliary facilities, trash cans, and floating safety lines for protection.

Season

Monitoring occurs throughout the year at 10 samples annually. Data available from 2009 through 2025.

Water quality is monitored annually and assessed over four-year periods under both Croatian regulation and EU Directive 2006/7/EZ. Sampling coordinates: 43.502°N 16.4786°E; 43.5015°N 16.4809°E; 43.5014°N 16.476°E. Annual sampling occurs at 10 samples per year. Quality classifications include excellent, good, sufficient, and poor ratings.
