A predominantly sandy beach located in Giulianova, Abruzzo, with the last 200 metres towards the south near the mouth of the Tordino river being pebbly. The beach has an average width of approximately 75 metres, varying from a maximum of 125 metres in the northern section to a minimum of 25 metres in the southern section affected by erosion. The emerged beach has a slope of approximately 3 per cent, increasing to more than 5 per cent for the submerged portion.

Coastal waters. The bathing area extends 0.850 square kilometres. Sand diameter ranges from 0.06 millimetres to 0.5 millimetres with a median diameter of 0.2 millimetres.

Location

Giulianova, Province of Teramo, Abruzzo region. The bathing area is located along Lungomare Spalato (Spalato Waterfront). Parking is available in the vicinity of beach facilities.

Facilities

Beach establishments with food and beverage facilities, shops, parking areas, hotel-restaurants, pedestrian walkways, bicycle path, and sports facilities. Animals are permitted in designated free beach area number 8 according to municipal regulations.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Excellent. The area is monitored under the seventh annual monitoring cycle as of May 2019. No specific active monitoring or measurement measures are currently in place for pollution identification.
