Location

Pineto, province of Teramo, Abruzzo region. The competent authority is the Municipality of Pineto, located at Via Milano, 1, 64025 Pineto (Tel./fax 085/9497220).

Water Quality

Classification: Excellent. All wastewater from the urbanized territory is treated at a treatment plant located in the Piane Vomano area within the municipal territory, managed by Ruzzo Servizi S.p.A. for ATO n. 5 'Teramano'. The sewerage system operates with separation: black water is conveyed to the treatment plant on the south bank of the Vomano river, and greywater is directed to the sea and watercourses. No industrial or urban discharge waters are present near the beach.

Risks

Marine waters in the Abruzzo area have not presented characteristic cyanobacterial blooms. Sparse algal blooms have been observed in summer in previous years, with some dinoflagellate blooms recorded with scarce presence or total absence of toxic species. No proliferation events of macroalgae, phytoplankton, or potentially toxic species have occurred.
