Water quality classification: Excellent (2008-2011). No coastal treatment plants or Imhoff tanks are present. River mouths have been identified as sources of pollution impact on bathing water.

Risks

River mouths (Rio della Madonna, Torrente Cervo) are identified as pollution sources. Cyanobacterial blooms are not characteristic of the Ligurian Sea due to oligotrophic conditions. No cases of potentially toxic algal strain proliferation have been recorded in the last four years.
