Bathing water located 1500 meters on the left bank at the mouth of the Marta River in Tarquinia, Lazio. The area is classified in category C. The beach structure is sandy with no equipped areas. The surrounding area is not urbanized and contains no industrial facilities.

River water body from Bacino Fiora to F. Mignone. The Marta River forms the hydrographic basin known as Arrone Nord-Marta.

Location

Tarquinia, Viterbo Province, Lazio Region. The bathing area extends 590 meters along the water body.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is elevated based on the 95th and 90th percentile of monitored parameters. One active urban wastewater treatment plant serves the municipality for populations over 2000 inhabitant equivalents. Monitoring activities for pollutant concentration are not currently active. Mollusk cultivation has been identified as a pollution source.

Risks

Short-duration pollution events are being studied regarding modeling approaches. No cyanobacterial blooms have been recorded. The area is not subject to macroalgae and microalgae blooms.
