A sandy beach in Pesaro with fine quartz-feldspar and calcareous sand of quarzotic origin. The beach has a gentle average slope of 3% across both the exposed and submerged areas, protected by artificial rock barriers. The distance between mean low water and high water (safe water limit) is 80 metres. Astronomical tidal range is 30–50 centimetres. The surrounding area consists of urban settlements with a railway line passing through it.

Coastal bathing water in the Pesaro_Fano water body, covering an area of 0.65258 square kilometres. The Rio Genica drainage basin is the relevant hydrological unit.

Location

Pesaro, in the province of Pesaro Urbino, in the Marche region. The beach is known as 30 M Nord Fosso Sejore. The beach is 55 metres wide on average and is free access.

Water Quality

Water quality classification is E. The Pesaro wastewater network comprises mixed-type collectors conveying effluent to five treatment plants across the territory. The largest facility is at Borgheria near the Foglia river mouth, serving the urban nucleus of Pesaro with a capacity of approximately 90,000 population equivalents and a flow rate of approximately 20,000 cubic metres per day using biological treatment. Over the last four years, 24 annual inspections of Table 1 parameters and 6 annual inspections of Table 3 parameters under Legislative Decree 152/2006 were conducted, all conforming to legal limits. Mixed urban wastewater collectors not connected to the Borgheria treatment plant, with disinfection stations, discharge into the Foglia river and the Genica stream. Some have been partially remediated through connection of most buildings in certain districts to new separate sewerage with discharge to the Borgheria treatment plant. The Fosso Sejore outlet receives effluent from the Trebbiantico treatment plant (800 population equivalents) and an untreated domestic and stormwater collector from Trebbiantico (discharge number 54, less than 2000 population equivalents).
