A sandy and pebbly beach located 300 meters north of the Saline River mouth in Abruzzo. The beach extends approximately 175 meters in length and 10 meters in width. The shoreline is accessible on foot and surrounded by native flora. Abandoned remains of a former campground are present on the beach. The nearest urbanised area begins approximately 750 meters away.

Water

Coastal marine water body. Beach width varies between 15 and 20 meters. Area extent is 0.326 square kilometers. The water body is part of the Saline River basin (IT_12_TRONTO_RICCIO).

Location

Città Sant'Angelo, Pescara Province, Abruzzo region. Located 300 meters north of the Saline River mouth. The municipality authority office is at Piazza IV Novembre, 1, Città Sant'Angelo (PE), telephone 085/9696229.

Facilities

No facilities present. Abandoned remains of a former campground exist on the beach.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: Sufficient. No specific active monitoring measures are currently in place. Identified pollution sources include discharge from two river mouths (Saline and Piomba rivers) and a storm overflow facility.

Risks

Two river outlets discharge into the bathing area. White water runoff is discharged to sea via an open channel near the bathing zone. A storm overflow facility from Silvi municipality discharges in the area. No cyanobacteria blooms have been recorded in recent years. Phytoplankton blooms occur occasionally in summer months with rare toxic species.
