A sandy and pebbly beach approximately 175 metres long and 10 metres wide located on the Abruzzo coast. The beach is accessible only on foot and is surrounded by native flora. Abandoned campground remains are present on the beach, with urbanised areas beginning approximately 750 metres away. The water body is classified as good quality.

Coastal waters. The bathing area extends 0.175 square kilometres with a beach width varying from 15 to 20 metres. The area is part of the Torrente Piomba river basin.

Location

Città Sant'Angelo, Pescara Province, Abruzzo Region. The bathing area is situated 50 metres south of the Torrente Piomba estuary. Parking information is not provided.

Water quality classification: Good. No active monitoring measures are currently in place. Identified pollution sources include two river mouths (Saline and Piomba), a stormwater overflow structure, and a stormwater discharge system that empties near the bathing area.

Risks

Two river mouths, stormwater overflow, and stormwater discharge system present potential pollution sources. No cyanobacterial blooms have been recorded in the marine waters of the Abruzzo area. No macroalgae or phytoplankton proliferation events have occurred. Sparse phytoplankton blooms occur in summer, including occasional dinoflagellate blooms with low or absent toxic species. No anomalous events have been reported.
