Ajstrup Strand is located in Aarhus Municipality. Access to the beach is available via a parking area at the bend on Ajstrup Strandvej or via stairs to the summer house area above. Parking is available at the designated lot on Ajstrup Strandvej.

Water Quality

Water quality is classified as excellent based on four years of monitoring data. Possible pollution sources include Enghave bæk, a piped watercourse that discharges to the beach at the parking area near the bend on Ajstrup Strandvej.

Risks

Blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) blooms can occur during certain current directions and after several days of calm, warm weather. Large amounts of macroalgae (seaweed) at the beach edge may pose risks due to toxin formation in decaying seaweed and protection of disease-causing bacteria from UV degradation. High waves may occur due to fast ferry operations.
