A bathing water area located in Aarhus Municipality with a sandy beach 30–40 metres wide. The water has a sandy bottom with depths reaching 2 metres approximately 125 metres from the shore. Water quality is classified as excellent based on data from the last 4 years. The area is subject to weak northward currents and may experience increased wave heights of 50–75 cm above natural levels during fast ferry operations.

Water Quality

Water quality classification: excellent. Bathing water quality is assessed based on data from the last 4 years. Giber Å stream discharges into the southern part of the beach. Cyanobacteria (blue-green algae) blooms may occur during particular current directions and after several days of calm, warm weather. Macroalgae (seaweed) blooms can also occur. Risks

Cyanobacteria blooms may occur with specific current directions and prolonged calm, warm weather. Macroalgae blooms can develop; bathing near accumulated seaweed is not recommended due to potential toxin formation in decomposing algae and protection of disease-causing bacteria from UV degradation. Fast ferry operations may generate waves 50–75 cm higher than natural wave heights. Dogs are not permitted.
