Water Quality

Water quality classification follows Decreto-Lei 135/2009 (amended by Decreto-Lei 113/2012). Sampling conducted every 2 weeks. No days of bathing prohibition or advisory due to short-term pollution events were recorded during the 2024 bathing season.

Risks

Potential fecal contamination from malfunctioning septic tank in nearby sanitary facilities. Short-term pollution unlikely except in case of illegal discharges. Cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton proliferation: unlikely with no historical record of occurrence.
