The recreation and leisure area features several trees providing shade and a sandy zone. The site includes a bar, toilets, showers, playground, children's park, parking, tables, benches, and supporting furniture.

Location

Located in the municipality of Sabugal, approximately 500 metres from the parish of Rapoula do Côa on the Côa river bank. Parking is available.

Facilities

Season

28 June to 31 August 2025.

Water Quality

Water quality classification under Decreto-Lei 135/2009 (amended by Decreto-Lei 113/2012). Monitoring occurs every two weeks. No days of bathing being advised against or prohibited due to short-term pollution events were recorded in the 2024 bathing season.

Risks

Potential faecal contamination from illegal discharges or malfunction of the septic tank in the vicinity. Short-term pollution can occur during precipitation due to microbiological load entrainment or untreated effluent discharges. A wastewater treatment plant is located upstream in Sabugal. Cyanobacteria, macroalgae, and phytoplankton proliferation are unlikely with no historical record of occurrence.
